Who We Are
Mobilizing for Justice is a collective of faculty, staff, and students at Loyola University Chicago committed to upholding social justice values. We actively promote the safety and acceptance of all people by supporting concrete action, promoting productive and informed dialogue, and actively resisting oppression on the campus and in our communities.
What we want to achieve as a group: Education: Provide a curated list of resources and tools for responding to injustice. Facilitate dialogues with each other and across communities (e.g., through meetings, speakers, films, panels). Organization: Bringing together diverse groups to work toward a common purpose. We aim to motivate and empower our communities to channel collective energy in a productive direction. Action: Mobilize a diverse group to live out our social justice values. By way of collaboration with concerned groups, we will anticipate and execute action plans, respond to critical incidents, and oppressive policies. Our guiding principles are derived from the New Social Compact.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
